Just put it on my calendar! Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness I saw your post, got it set to record - thanks!
ReplyDeleteI watched it last night and thought it was terrific! But also kind of depressing. It's shame that the Eames' idea of 'The Best for the Most for the Least' has been utterly forgotten by Herman Miller as well as companies like Design (not) Within Reach. At least Ikea has embraced that idea but they're often dismissed by modern designers.
ReplyDeleteYou mean Design Beyond Reach - yikes! So I guess it isn't so shameful to buy knockoffs? I got an arc floor lamp at Lumens and it is very nice. Compared to the $2700 version at DWR, I'm quite happy with it!
ReplyDeleteUnless you're rich, I don't think anyone should be ashamed about buying knockoffs! But even those can be overpriced. I've been lucky since I've been able to furnish most of my house with Goodwill & thrift shop finds and I'm all about recycling but sometimes you've got to splurge a little.
