Sears 1960 Catalog

Sears 1960 Fall Catalog

I recently uploaded a large batch of pictures from the Sears 1960 Fall/Winter Catalog to Flickr. The pictures are amazing and really inspirational if you're looking for decorating ideas, color combinations, lighting tips or just trying to research vintage furniture. I hope you'll enjoy browsing through them as much as I did. Enjoy the slideshow!

If you'd like to browse through the catalog pages at a more leisurely pace you can find my Sears 1960 Fall Catalog Set on Flickr.

  2. Glad you like them! Hopefuly people will find them useful. I found the lighting pages really interesting and the room dividers were pretty amazing. A catalog like this is really helpful when you're trying to get ideas on how to decorate. The pictures of drapes and bed spreads/bed covers are really helpful just for color and pattern ideas.

  3. Hi - I hop over here once in a while. Thanks for the flash back. I was in the first grade in the fall of 1960. As I remember, there were a few of the items from the catalog around, but most families that I was familiar with lived with older furnishings - items probably passed along by other family members. Thanks again. This was fun.

  4. Glad you enjoyed the catalog. I love looking at things like this. I'm reminded of things that were in my own home when I was growing up. My parents were married in 1965 and I followed a few years afterward but a lot of the same styles were still popular then.

  5. Thank you so much for sharing the catalog, it helped me to identify SOO much that I've seen in MCM shops and Antique Malls. The reach of Sears around the country makes me realize now why I see certain things time and again in shops, tens of thousands of black metal cigarette/magazine/cup stands were made. I have a soft spot for tension pole lamps...lots of great examples! Thank you again.

  6. Neato. I have a hardbavk catalogue for every item imaginable from 1955. I think it was a wholesalers cataloge for dealers called "The Book of Gifts". It is an amazing window to the Mid-Century Modern aesthetic. I've thought about taking it apart and framing some of the plates.
