I guess you can't really stretch out in them.

As for the magazines, well I only have one issue of the Home Journal from 1953. If you happen to come across any interesting articles, recipes or pics inside them and feel compelled to scan them I know I'd love to see them. :)Kimberlyhttp://midcenturyliving.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8514658573723139183.post-59225134417293506172009-11-05T12:49:12.017-07:002009-11-05T12:49:12.017-07:00I've only got 2 or 3, and they're from the...I've only got 2 or 3, and they're from the 50's and early 60's, actually (I should have specified).

My guess as to why those tubs never caught on is that it's a lot harder to stretch out in them. But you do see the same idea w/the seats in some stand-up showers made today.ARhttp://www.lunar-circuitry.net/wordpressnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8514658573723139183.post-74168333280131632932009-11-04T20:22:24.527-07:002009-11-04T20:22:24.527-07:00Greg - glad you like them!

I know I'd like one!

I'd love to see images from any magazines you might have laying around, AR! Most of these images come from mags like Better Homes & Gardens, etc. I have a lot more '50s & '60s era mags but not much '40s stuff.Kimberlyhttp://midcenturyliving.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8514658573723139183.post-41747501849562825102009-11-04T13:49:09.662-07:002009-11-04T13:49:09.662-07:00Ah yes, the peach/pink. I'm usually able to recognize houses built or decorated in the 40's based on that color.
Clearly, the square bathtub never quite caught on.

Great scans. I might have to dig up my old Ladies' Home Journals from that era and scan 'em for you. I think you'd like.ARhttp://www.lunar-circuitry.net/wordpressnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8514658573723139183.post-85611822612724166422009-11-04T11:29:37.232-07:002009-11-04T11:29:37.232-07:00Great scans this week!
